Hong Kong Routes: What is the difference between CN2, Mainland-Optimized, and International?

CN2, Mainland-Optimized, and International lines primarily differ in their target user groups and optimization approaches.

CN2 lines are primarily designed for users in mainland China, optimizing access speed and stability within mainland China;

Mainland-Optimized lines are also intended for mainland users, but they may not necessarily be CN2 lines; instead, they may be optimized through other methods;

International routes are primarily designed for global users, providing connectivity worldwide.

Summary:

The differences between CN2, Mainland-Optimized, and International routes are as follows: CN2 routes are optimized for users in Mainland China, offering fast speeds and low latency; Mainland-Optimized routes also target Mainland users but may not necessarily be CN2 routes and may utilize other optimization methods; International routes are designed for global users, providing worldwide connectivity, but with relatively higher latency.

How to Choose:

Primary users in Mainland China: Prioritize CN2 or Mainland-optimized lines, especially for scenarios requiring low latency and high stability.

Primary users worldwide: Choose international lines.

Need to serve both Mainland China and global users: Consider using CN2 or BGP lines, or opt for multi-line BGP configurations to achieve optimal global access performance.
